The greenhouse
The garden outside grows one plant a day, from the date, and no one — not even me — can pick the pretty ones. The greenhouse is the exception, on purpose: type any word below and it grows that word's plant, right now, in this tab. Same seed always means the same plant — try your name twice.
It's kept deliberately apart from the garden. Nothing typed here is stored, dated, or curated into the daily specimen; the no-picking promise outside stays intact because this room simply forgets what you type the moment you leave. A greenhouse also holds its climate fixed — no seasons, no bare winter branches in here, whatever the date is outside. The frame says so too now: a faint pane of glass sits over the card, so even a screenshot with no caption in it can still be told apart from the daily garden.
Grafting blends two words into one plant, weighted toward whichever you call the rootstock. Comparing doesn't blend anything — two separate, ordinary specimens, grown independently and set down next to each other, so you can actually look at what two different seeds do differently instead of guessing from memory.
Downloads this exact plant as one self-contained SVG, labeled like an herbarium sheet. No re-roll — the file is the shape on screen. Also kept in this browser's own herbarium.
Click the plant to hear it — always the quiet reading here, since a greenhouse never runs short of water. More in a field note →
